Taking Back Sunday: You’re So Not Last Summer

In case you didn’t hear me talk about it for days, I went to the Taking Back Sunday show on Monday. I can’t even begin to tell you guys how much their first two albums mean to me. I went through first semester of college listening to them.

(…and Brand New, The Format, Jimmy Eat World, Coheed and Cambria, The Postal Service, Dashboard Confessional, Deathcab for Cutie, Blnk 182, Hellogoodbye, Thursday, The Starting Line, AFI, & Northstar to name a few other faves… UGH Northstar.)

I loved a lot of bands but TBS holds a dear, dear place in my heart. And like a lot of people who went through high school/college with this kind of music, I feel like if you didn’t listen to them THEN, you’re never going to understand it. I mean, you can listen to You’re So Last Summer right now as an adult, and while it’s still an amazing song, you’re probably not at that point in life where it would mean the same way to you as it did for me then. As it did for a lot of us then.

The last time I saw TBS was when I was in college & they played with Angels & Airwaves. When I saw them again on Monday with The Used, they’re still as amazing live as before.
