Vandal

Very excited that Summer Fridays are back! My favorite thing to do after leaving work at 1 pm on Fridays is meeting up with Brian to walk around Manhattan and hunt down graffiti! So of course, when I heard about Vandal, I just HAD to go check it out.

Vandal is a restaurant that offers street food on it’s menu and street art on the walls. The entire front has two full walls of Shepard Fairey, the back has a full wall by Tristan Eaton, and all along the interior are framed artwork by the usual suspects including Space Invaders & Faile. The Bagel Nook

I’m not really a bagel person. I like it but it’s just not my go-to breakfast item. To be honest, there are a handful of items on a breakfast menu that I would order first before settling into a bagel (avocado toast, eggs benedict, sausage-egg-and-cheese on a kaiser roll, french toast with a side of extra crispy bacon, THE LIST IS ENDLESS!)

So when I found myself hungry somewhere deep in New Jersey with Brian, I found us The Bagel Nook. I remember putting it in my list of food places to try because of their Flaming Hot Cheeto bagels. (yes, you read that correctly)

Obviously, I had to try it. With Cool Ranch cream cheese. Brian got the Cinnamon Toast Crunch bagel with Crumb Cake cream cheese. Click through for more photos!

Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer

Brian and I were near the Meatpacking District, I was getting hangry, and subsequently had this insane craving for a big, fat, juicy burger. We headed towards Black Tap and as we were walking, I saw this long line on the block. Naturally, I assumed it was a line for a show. Of course, I realized too late that these people in line are actually there for the burgers as well.

Mid-Panic, I asked Brian to buy us tacos from the truck across the street (LOL) while I waited in line for a table. The line was almost half a block and we were told that the wait was going to be 40 minutes. 40 MINUTES! 10 minutes in, Brian came back with two pork tacos and after scarfing them down, we both agreed to wait another 5, after that we were going for a slice. Not even two seconds later, the hostess came in and said they had bar seating for two! PERFECT. Click through to continue reading!
