Graffiti & Miss Paradis

I love Freeman Alley – there's usually a good amount of work by SacSix and it's always neon bright. I did find that Chris Uphues' hearts in one corner got covered up though – sad that it's a natural part of graffiti; it's ever changing. Which is why I love walking around the city and finding new ones! Capped it off with some late lunch and prosecco at Miss Paradis – a bright and cheery spot designed by Philippe Starck! Sant Ambroeus

A friend of mine recommended Sant Ambroeus a couple of months ago – he said it’s one of his favorite spots for Italian food! Of course, because I have a mile-long list of places, I didn’t get around to visiting until this past weekend. I absolutely love the interior (Brian and I went to the one on Lafayette) and I spotted some work by Baron Von Fancy, Donald Robertson, & even Mr. Brainwash! The food is delicious – we got the Sant Ambroeus panini, Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, baskets upon baskets of bread (and endless refills of delicious olive oil to dip in), all accompanied with a refreshing glass of rose for me, and the Anguria cocktail for Brian. Yeti Tracks at Snowdays

I love shaved ice – it’s lighter than it’s cream counterpart and makes me all nostalgic because my grandma used to have one of those manual shaved ice machines. I got the Yeti Food: It’s Yeti Tracks shaved ice with bananas, waffles cones, & blueberry puree. Next time I’m getting the same thing but with mochi – it’s so good! Click through for more pics!

Squish Marshmallows

Somewhere before downing some donuts and after noshing on ice cream, Brian and I found the time to stop by Squish to sample some toasted marshmallows. The smore is delicious but I wish the waffle cone taco were dipped in Dark chocolate instead. Click through for more pics!

Pierogies at Veselka

My first bite of pierogi was when I was in college. My close friend Sara insisted that I take a bite of the boiled, potato-filled dumpling with a pile of fried onions and a big dollop of sour cream. I took that wonderful delicious bite and never looked back.

Veselka is one of my favorite spots – I’ve been here so many times and the food always tastes the same! I love all their pierogies, the stuffed cabbage, and the matzo ball soup. Brian and I shared some plates while Lizzie hung around and people watched. The staff was so nice – they gave her a small bowl of water and even offered some homemade dog biscuits!
