Picasso, Baby.

Our last day in Barcelona was packed with more sightseeing, and even more food.

Started out seeing The Giants (behemoth paper mache figures that are commonly used in fiestas), a walk through the Gothic quarter, the Picasso museum, a tour inside Gaudi’s Casa Batllo, a metro trip to Quimet y Quimet for dinner, and finally, a nightcap at Els Quatre Gats – a cafe that used to be frequented by Picasso himself.

The Best Thing I Ever Ate: Barcelona Edition

When I book a vacation ANYWHERE in the world, I scour Yelp, Tripadvisor, Chowhound, Serious Eats, & Time Out simultaneously to figure out which restaurants I should grace my presence with. It’s no secret that I love good food so it shouldn’t surprise anyone that I have a systematic approach with my restaurant research months prior to a trip. I mean it only makes sense, right? I leave a lot of wiggle room for spontaneous choices but for the most part, I have a hit list of places already bookmarked on my phone. The mere thought of “winging it” for 8 days’ worth of lunch and dinner gives me shudders. I’m a liiiiiiiiiiiiiittle too Type A for that.

Fast Food Breakfast, Taking the Metro, Camp Nou, Mercat de la Boqueria, & Tapas in Las Ramblas

Another reason why it takes me a bajillion years to post photos is because I like to edit them. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t like to over process photos with 20 filters, but I just feel like if I’m going to show people photos from my trip, I want the pics to do the place justice. Does that make sense?

Anyway, here are pics from a full day starting with our super fancy breakfast at Pans & Company. This fast food chain is kind of awesome – I mean, patatas bravas and serrano ham sandwich? Yes please.
