I love Freeman Alley – there's usually a good amount of work by SacSix and it's always neon bright. I did find that Chris Uphues' hearts in one corner got covered up though – sad that it's a natural part of graffiti; it's ever changing. Which is why I love walking around the city and finding new ones! Capped it off with some late lunch and prosecco at Miss Paradis – a bright and cheery spot designed by Philippe Starck! Photos from the Urban Art Fair – especially fun since there was a double book signing featuring Lori Zimmer & Luna Parks, authors of “The Art of Spray Paint” and “(UN)SANCTIONED” as well as some of my faves: Logan Hicks, Joe Iurato, Crash, & Nick Walker. Also, Brian and I bought a Shepard Fairey print! All in all, a great day (despite the crippling humidity). Click for more photos!
One of my favorite things to do on the weekends is hunting down awesome street art all over Manhattan, Brooklyn, and sometimes New Jersey. After a failed attempt at brunch, we salvaged the day by going on a self-guided mini tour of our favorite spots. Click through for photos!
A couple of weekends ago, Brian & I stopped by ‘Melt With Me’, Buff Monster’s solo exhibition at the Bowery. I’m a fan of his work because 1- Pink and 2- I love the melty motifs. The murals that he’s done all over lower Manhattan are awesome but the ones that really pop are in Bushwick – Brooklyn’s mini Wynwood walls.
