Taking Back Sunday: You’re So Not Last Summer

In case you didn’t hear me talk about it for days, I went to the Taking Back Sunday show on Monday. I can’t even begin to tell you guys how much their first two albums mean to me. I went through first semester of college listening to them.

(…and Brand New, The Format, Jimmy Eat World, Coheed and Cambria, The Postal Service, Dashboard Confessional, Deathcab for Cutie, Blnk 182, Hellogoodbye, Thursday, The Starting Line, AFI, & Northstar to name a few other faves… UGH Northstar.)

The Carlyle, Tom Ford, & A Giant Lobster

Went out for a random dinner at The Carlyle last night. I’ve been to Bemelman’s before but this is the first time I’ve ever dined in the main restaurant. Of course, while I was trying intently to have a conversation with my boyfriend, I saw Tom Ford come out of the back room and we made eye contact while he was trying to decide on which exit to go through. *le sigh* What a beautiful man. I should have yelled out, “CONGRATULATIONS!” hahah

Bag it, Coppin it, Washin it, ‘Bout to go & get some compliments!

I have a favorite thrift store in New Jersey and I’m not telling you which one. All I can say is that it’s huge, resembles a warehouse, and you have to dig through CARTONS of clothes based on handwritten labels on the boxes. I bought this tunic from there for a whopping $8 after rummaging through a box that’s been labeled “70’s Rayon”. Amazing.

From the Archives: Gaultier at the Brooklyn Museum, Buffalo Exchange, & White Manna burgers!

I cannot believe I almost forgot to share photos from the Gaultier Exhibit! Not that it really matters at this point because I’m sure everyone’s seen and heard about it on social media (especially the holographic faces on the mannequins). It was really great to see the clothes in person – I honestly didn’t realize Gaultier’s scope and influence on pop culture, directly or arbitrarily. Anyway, Le Boyfriend bought tickets for Valentine’s Day weekend but because of the head injury I got from The Great Fall of February, we had to wait until the next weekend to venture out to Brooklyn for the exhibit. Scroll below for some pics of my faves.
