I wear vintage oversized tops as dresses because yolo.

I don’t know if you guys can tell but I do a lot of YOLO-ing. I wore this the other day when I was on a date to see All The Way (yeah, that one play that the dude from Breaking Bad is in). I thought it was okay. I mean, Bryan Cranston was easy to watch as LBJ and the remainder of the cast gave a great performance but the story is just not for me. Then again, what do I know – I LOVED Peter and The Starcatcher as well as A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder so clearly, I’m a child and prefer physical comedy and puns over American history. It’s just not my cup of tea.

Ladybird Books aka My Childhood in Libya. Also, look at this awesome jacket!


I’m on a mission. But first, a quick history: Ladybird Books is a London-based company that publishes children’s books. When I was in Libya, I had built up a huge collection of their stuff. I even took them with me to the Philippines when I eventually moved. I’ve been thinking about my old books recently and I finally decided to make a list of the ones I remember owning so that I can start buying them on Amazon. I mean, I love the idea of passing them on to my children one day. (By children, I mean my future French Bulldog.)

Barcelona in May: Le Itinerary is booked!

I’m excited about this Spring for a multitude of reasons. First of all, it’s not snowing/hailing/sleeting/freezing/polar vortexing & that’s always cause for celebration in my book. Another reason is that next month, I’m going to Barcelona!


What kind of traveler are you? Do you like leisurely walks and discovering a city on your owns terms and at your own pace? Or are you insanely detailed and organized about your itinerary? I’m all about the latter.

Tex Mex Mondays?

When the first photo was taken, some woman rushing to Penn Station scoffed at me because I was acting like a noob. What can I say, I’m an intrepid tourist in my own city.
